Gmail allows you to import and export your contacts in various file formats, including CSV format (comma separated value file) and vCard format.
But why would you want to export contacts from Gmail in the first place?
Here are some reasons you could export Gmail contacts:
1. Building an email campaign list
By exporting contacts from your Gmail contact list as a CSV file (comma separated values), you can create a contact list for email campaigns. This saves you the effort of creating a new contact for each campaign recipient.
2. Backing up your contacts
You can back up your Google contacts as an external file in case you can’t access your Google account and need your contact information.
3. Add contacts to another email account
You might export your contacts to use them with another Google Gmail account or another email client such as Microsoft Outlook (outlook.com), Yahoo Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird.
