I am a third generation feng shui expert and my advice has helped thousands of people improve their lives through feng shui.
career area summary
Based on feng shui principles, when improvements are made to the professional side of your environment in combination with improvements made to complementary areas, your life path can be enhanced and manipulated in the way you most desire.
>
really, it’s about what you do. for most people, that would be their job. for others, it might be spending their time volunteering for a nonprofit organization. For business owners whose life paths are intertwined with their work, this area will play an important role.
- main element: water
- best colour: black
- best forms: fluid or formless
- complementary elements: white, metal, rounded
- destructive elements: yellow, earth, square or flat
In feng shui, the entrance to your home and office is associated with your career. By boosting your bagua’s career area, you can move to the front of the promotion line, earn more money, gain respect and recognition, and put your career on the fast track.
Flowing Water
In feng shui, the flow of money is represented by flowing water. therefore, if you want to earn a good salary and boost your career, it’s best to have moving water (literally or figuratively) in your home career guide.
This moving water can be in the form of something like a water fountain or something that looks like or represents water like a large framed mirror or an image of a calm flowing river. just make sure the water flows or appears to flow into the house and not out. the same is true even for paintings or images of water.
If you want the best feng shui you can find, put a pool or large fountain in front of your house. Just think of some of the richest people you can imagine with houses that look like Getty Villa (pictured below) or Hearst Castle.
Make sure your water or fountains around your front door are kept clean and working. standing water will result in a stalled race.
No Giant Waves!
Note that you should not have destructive representations of water such as images of crashing waves. you want your career and money to flow freely; don’t crash into you like a tidal wave.
Before I met him, my husband had an image of a man standing in the doorway of a lighthouse with giant waves crashing against him. that’s only good if you want a chaotic career and erratic income.
colors
The best color to use in the professional area of your home or business is the one that most represents the ocean of water: black.
You could have a black glass vase next to your door, for example. White, gray or blue also complement this area throughout the creative cycle of the bagua, but your best option is still black.
Red Doors
How about red doors, which we often see in homes with wonderful feng shui? painting your front door red draws energy into your home.
things to avoid
avoid objects that are square or flat in shape, colors that are earth tones such as yellow, and avoid objects made of earth-like materials such as soil.
what happens when you mix soil and water? mud. You don’t want to cloud your career, do you? Also avoid plants that have thorns or sharp edges, such as rose bushes or most varieties of cacti.
cure for the new career
If you need a new career or want to take a new direction in your current career, hang a 6-rod metal wind chime on the career fence in your home. the wind chime should be hung with a red string 9 inches or 9 centimeters long (or some multiple of 9). Wind chimes are a wonderful feng shui tool as they attract a lot of fresh new energy as well as giving you focus to achieve your goals.
Use the front door!
Before you even bother using all these items to help you, the most important thing is to always use the front door. make sure you enter your home using the front door as much as possible. you should not use a garage or side door as your main entrance.
In feng shui, the front door is the proverbial mouth of your house. you need to feed your home with energy, or chi, through your mouth or front door. When you or your guests open and use the front door, energy enters your home and gently flows around your entire home to bless you with all its abundance.
Nowadays, many of us use our garage door and enter the house through the laundry room or directly from the garage. Since your front door is usually on the professional feng shui gua, using it or not using it has a huge impact on your career, as well as all aspects of the bagua.
Have you ever seen a millionaire enter his house through the side or back door? No! your employees do.
…and That It’s Functional

make sure the doorbell, latch and hinges work.
make sure your front door area is well lit so it can be seen from the street and you can easily find your keys when standing in front of your door.
never block any part of your door. Even if you have a double door and only use one, make sure you don’t block the second door that isn’t used regularly.
Also, be sure to open that second door from time to time. when you open the door, make sure that it opens smoothly and quietly; no squeaking metal or squeaky doors please!
enter the chi
One of the most important things to remember is that the front door is where all of your feng shui energy, or chi, enters the house. without this chi, you won’t have the lifeblood it takes to impact every gua in your home.
If you feel like you’re missing out on all aspects of feng shui bagua (health, career, wisdom, wealth, fame, love, creativity, and helpful people), you might want to take a good look at the area. of the house where the entrance door is located.
use that front door regularly, make sure nothing is blocking the entrance in front of or inside the door, and make sure it doesn’t creak!
